A Closer Look is back for 2013 and kicks off with Adam Hopwood, Digital Designer at Reason Digital, very kindly sharing his insight into his line of work.

What is your official job title? Digital Designer
What does your average day involve (if an average day even exists)? Going to client workshops, creating user personas, wireframing, creating mock-ups, liasing with the development team and dealing with client feedback. A wide variety of areas really!
What are the biggest challenges of your job? Explaining concepts in different ways to completely different personalities such as the development team, clients and project managers.
What do you enjoy most about your job? Learning about the wide variety of causes we work with and solving the design problems which surround them.
What advice would you give to anyone wanting to get into a similar position? Get a good base knowledge in traditional graphic design. Learn to empathise with potential users. Be clued up on design trends but take inspiration from the world around you. Learn to take feedback and separate yourself from your work.

Thanks so much to Adam for getting on board with this project. If you work in the media/creative industry and have five minutes to spare to help create this careers resource, please have a read about the project here
